Through more than ten years of experience designing and developing for the Web, I have gained a pretty extensive knowledge of interface design and usability, as well developed in a considerable amount of languages and technologies. I've seen a lot of trends come and go. I've been on some amazingly successful projects and teams, and some not so successful. I most appreciated my opportunities to empathize with and advocate for users. It's become clear that the key to a successful experience not only lies in being able to develop, using only industry best practices and the most appropriate technologies, but it really requires understanding the user's needs.
Everything I do on the front-end, from designing interfaces in Sketch and Invision, creating graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator, to coding in HTML, CSS/Sass, Javascript, React, jQuery, and Bootstrap. In addition to everything I can do on the back-end, such as Node, npm, Express, Python, C#, .Net, Mongo, Mongoose, and SQL. As well as anything else you can throw at me is done with a sincere desire to make our connected world a more beautiful, usable, and maintainable place. Web development has never been just a profession for me, it is a passion.
My other passions include the standard set of geeky interests, gaming, comics, movies and things technical. I am an avid action figure collector and host a podcast dedicated to the four greatest action figure franchises of the 80's and all time: Star Wars, Transformers, G.I. Joe and Masters of the Universe. I also enjoy all things Colorado. Seasonally I camp, ride dirt bikes and snowboard, while year round I play basketball and practice Tae Kwon Do.
